Wellbeing and Support

We are here for you!

Although we hope your time studying in Bristol will be a smooth ride, we know the majority of our students will face a range of personal and academic issues at some point during their studies.

The University of Bristol offers a wide variety of help lines, networks and support systems.

Mental Health

As a society, Aerosoc is working to erase the stigma and taboo surrounding the topic of mental health amongst our student community. Because of the pressure caused by their courses, Engineer students are more susceptible to stress and anxiety-related issues.

We promote a non-judgemental environment of safety, so feel free to reach out to us under any circumstances. We will do our best to help you.

Student Health

The University not only has a range of health services available to its current students but also provides confidential information, advice and guidance to prospective and current disabled students and to staff supporting disabled students. You can find out more about these services using the links below.

In case of a medical emergency, call 999. The NHS also has a service to advise people on what to do about their symptoms, it can be reached 24/7 by phone (call 111) or online (see link below).

Academic Support

Student Support

If you are having any academic or personal issues and are unsure about whom to ask or what to do, we linked below a list of people and services that can help you out. We always advise you to firstly speak with your Personal Tutor or Course Representatives about any problems you are uncertain about.

Drugs

Alcohol and other drugs increase the risk to students’ short and longer-term physical and mental health, academic studies and relationships. Additionally, future career prospects can be damaged if students are involved in criminal activities.

If you are worried about someone’s drug use (including yourself), the University has a list of resources that can be found in the Drug Harm Reduction Statement below. Two other Bristol-located drug help projects are linked below.

Keep yourself safe, avoid the use of drugs and be responsible about it.
